Creativity is the Skill of the Future

Robert Iger, in his famous business quote states ???????The heart and soul of a company is in creativity and innovation.??????? What makes creativity such an important soft-skill? Creativity is a valuable tool for developing new ideas, increasing efficiency and creating solutions to difficult problems. Some of us may be bestowed with natural creativity skills in certain forms, whilst in general, it is a skill that can be learned and developed over time and with practice. There are several kinds of creative skills that one can easily practice to become more creative in the workplace. Used in apt settings, these skills can be effective in helping them think differently about a problem or a task.

Some ways to hone your creativity skills in the work environment:

Employee Interaction- Team building, communicating and collaborating are important skills not only for better productivity of employees but also to harness creative energy too. This will spark creativity; allow room for innovation, ideas and inspiration to flow freely across departments. In addition to this, collaboration and interaction among the work force creates the best circumstances for building a healthy work environment and increases employees' satisfaction at work too.

Out of the box experiences- A calm and relaxed mind is better at decision making and can do more work in shorter time. Out of the box settings do not need trips to faraway places, it could just be small steps like shifting the meeting to a coffee shop or decorating the office space with more plants, inspirational quotes and wall hangings or small renovation, creating a breathing space for employees to break away from the same-old monotonous day at work.

For leaders, it is a great idea to organise free interactive sessions to be able to keep in touch with their hired hands and help boost their motivation from time to time. Seeking inspiration from other opponent industries is also a creditably good idea. Instead of seeing opponents in a negative light, there should be an encouragement to seek the good in them, imitate, learn and in process, innovate something good to its best form. Small steps like these go a big way in helping create a culture of creativity and innovation in any workplace.
